Catin' and carpin' at Lincoln Beach
#1
Took my crew out today and caught a few cats early in the morning. When the heat became brutal we switched over to stalking the wiley bugle mouths. Fun... almost as much fun as catching cats. Second pic shows how low the water is in the launch channel... still launchable but water level is going down fast.

A couple of cat pics from earlier in the week.... a green one and a gray one.

Enough of the heat!!... bring on Sept.

Some decent cats. I've caught quite a few around the 27 inch mark, but haven't been able to get into anything too impressive. I caught these 2 this morning, one 26, one 27. The big ones have to be somewhere...

Also, I can't believe how fast the water is dropped. I hadn't hit UL for a couple weeks but it's easily down 2 feet from the first week in July. She's gonna be bone dry before too long.[Image: beaten.gif]

FMF-- Totally agree on the cat size. I've been ketchin' a lot of cats but can't get past that 27 inch mark. I've tried night shifts thinking that might produce some biguns but not so. I think they are there and will put in an appearance come cooler water temps in Sept. (assuming there will be any water). Some of my favorite places to fish last year are high and dry now.

Keep after 'em and we will pull ahead of those northern yahoos down the stretch.[Wink]

I was gonna say those almost look good enough to be northern sized cats!
Hey, at least you're getting out and getting into some. Fun carping for the kids.
Wouldn't hurt ya if more of your teammates pitched in.

Maybe this year I'll try some of that fall cattin!
