Strawberry Saturday
#1
Braved the crowds at Strawberry Saturday. That was the most boats I've ever seen there. We tried to stay away from the masses and did okay. I'm sure the bulk of the Kokanee were under all the other boats but I didn't want to deal with that. We still managed to pick up several that were 2 pounds plus. Nothing like the monsters we got at the Gorge but decent. There were so many boat waves it was like being on the ocean! I'd suggest going up on a weekday if possible. I saw a skiff driving around checking every boat with binoculars. Not sure what they were looking for. Maybe the DWR doing a head count? All they did was scan each boat really quick and then took off to the next boat. All in all, not a bad day.
