I guess I am not a smart man.

Where is this lake? Are these names all the same lake? Is this the lake that alot of folks were catching alot of smaller kokes this year? Is this a top secret body of water? Can you launch a 20' boat here? Is there asphault roads to get to this lake?

Thanks for your answers if you care to share.

Cheers

Wow that is a lot of questions. This is a small body of water that likely could be damaged if it received a lot of pressure but I'll answer some of your questions. Yes all the names you have listed are the same lake. The lake is in the mountains above Hyrum and yes it is one of the local lakes that have smaller kokes. You might be able to launch a boat that size but there are no asphalt roads or launch there and it is several miles from where the asphalt road ends to where the first launch is located. The first launch is very steep and very washboarded at the top and the turn is very sharp as you go down or up, so making that turn would be tough for a boat that sized. I would not say it is impossible but you would need a good 4x4 with low range.

Well thank you for your response.

I wish all of you that fish that lake good luck.

I will not be joining you. Not going to tow my boat down a dirt road to catch slimers, Walleyes yes, slimers no.

Dont get me wrong I enjoy catching slimers alot. But I go bananas to catch walleyes.

Thanks again,

Cheers

You made a good choice. In the spring, launching from the dirt ramps is OK. Later in the season, I would not recommend launching a boat as big as yours.
I fish it once a year and wonder why I go so far on rough roads for small fish. The answer is because it's there, I guess.

As Curt mentioned - it's a small lake, really not easy access, and the "launches" are mud and sand. Porcupine is the real name, the others are nicknames.
The fishing there really sucks - I think all there is is different varieties of slimers. Plus it's a quiet peaceful lake - I don't think you'd like it.
PLUS - it is wakeless speed, trolling speed only. I have a Jon boat, and have worried about launching there with that. There's more swimmers, paddleboards and canoes than motorized boats.

Curt's not kidding about the washboard road to the first launch point, plus the turn at the top is quite sharp. No easy way to turn around along the road either.

If you want to try for Kokes, Strawberry or the Gorge would probably be a better bet. Oh - and there is a mercury advisory, so any of the browns in there are better C&Rd. Seriously.
