Popular and useful fishing hobby has grown across the U.S.

OVIEDO, Fla., -- A popular fishing rod-building class coming to Minneapolis, Oct. 11 – 12, has only a few seats left.

The classes are offered across the nation by Mud Hole Rod Building & Tackle Crafting Corp.

Mud Hole’s Todd Vivian, a veteran instructor of the five-year old program said class sizes expanded in 2014 with more cities, opened to more attendees with bigger classroom settings in bigger hotels’ conference rooms. Most all classes are sold out.

“We’ve added an extra instructor or two for the same personal attention Mud Hole is noted for,” said Vivian. “The one-and-half day classes begin on Saturdays starting at 9 a.m. till 7 p.m. Sunday classes offer more instruction and the completion of the rod from 9 a.m. till noon.”

Tuition for the class is $149 and includes a kit to build a very versatile 6’6” spinning rod.

“The students come away with a great fishing rod,” said Vivian, “one they can use for a lifetime for multiple species. Plus the experience may develop into a popular hobby.”
