Late notice, but I'm looking for someone interested(and hopefully somewhat knowledgeable) in getting after some Walleye at Deer Creek tonight. I'm taking the boat up for the last time this evening before getting it winterized and putting it away for the cold season. I'm somewhat flexible, but I'd like to head up around 5 p.m., and willing to stay... as long as it takes I guess. Send me a PM if you're interested. The only pre-requisite would be the ability to back a trailer down the ramp.[bobhappy]

Backing a boat down the ramp is no problem. I would go with ya but I am in Colorado today.

[#0000FF]Ya might as well try for some marlin while you are at it. They have both been about equally common in the catch numbers lately.
Sorry. Wish I could offer more encouragement. The walleyes have just not been super abundant the last couple of years. Some guys catch a few here and a few there but not like it used to be.
Went up this morning looking for perch and walleye around the island. Some years that is a good plan. Not the last two years. None of either.
Saw some likely subjects in 30' and out in 38-39' but couldn't get them to volunteer to join me.
Saw several boats working along the north side of the lake, below the tracks. That is a good place to look this time of year when the water cools and the fish are moving deeper. They have a walleye highway that takes them to the big long point across from the main marina and they follow that out to their wintering depths.
Good luck.

[#0000FF]If you are so committed to fishing FOR walleye...even if you don't score any...then you need to join a twelve step program for wallieholics.
But if you are a true angler and realize that tugs is tugs then head for Da Berry. It has been treating folks a lot nicer than Deer Creek lately.

[#0000FF]Whatta gal! Non-discriminatory fly-flinger.
Strawberry can be fickle like any lake. In fact, some folks I know automatically figure that if it was good yesterday it won't be today. Often goes in cycles.
But I haven't fished it in about 30 years so what do I know? Silly slimers.
