Hit Scofield this morning with ChubbyChaser and our kids and put 17 on the ice by the time we were done. 1 chub and 16 cuts that were more like a bunch of long and skinny snakes. We caught them on everything from minnows to worms to pieces of chub (which worked best for me).
Fished right off the docks by the State Park ramp in the dam arm in 5'-10' of water. Ice was about 8" thick.

I was there with my son and we had similar success, although I landed two cutthroats like the one in the image below.

Great fish, boat_guy; and nice hat! Rise and Shout!
Can't wait to try ice fishing for my first time. Would I need a 4X4 vehicle to get to Scofield, or is it clear roads all the way to a parking lot? Never been that way.

Clear roads all the way. They keep them clear. Parking can be tricky though.

Nice fish! My biggest was about 16-17" and the rest were snaky like wind mentioned. Must be last years brood and they are short on food apparently. Was a great day to be there, was hoping the sun would pop out more but it was a lot of fun overall. Glad you did well!

Way cool and good job dads! It takes me back to when my dad took me ice fishing as a kid, although we never caught that many fish.

Nice fish boat_guy! My biggest was about 16" but still thin. Looks like yours has been hogging all the food! Thanks for sharing!

We hit scofield today also, I fished my usual spot and in 4 years have never caught a chub there.. Today we could have caught as many chubs as we wanted with a worm. We caught a bunch to keep for future bait.
We finished with 45+ trout between three of us from 11:30 till 3. The biggest cuts were caught with white tube jig tipped with chub, 19-21 inches long. Also lots of skinny cuts too.
As a side note I started the day at Mammoth ( Huntington) and the fishing was soooo slow! So we boogied over to scofield were I knew I could get into them.

Nice fish boat guy. Did you take your snowmobile out? Was the ice ok?

Nice to hear a success story come from moving a little late in the day. I have a nasty habit of growing roots in one spot thinking that it's just about to heat up. That's actually one of my fishing resolutions for this next year, along with finally landing one of those pesky walleyes that never want to play.

Yes, sure did. Ice was plenty thick at 10 inches by the island. A scout troop even had a four seater out of the ice. From what I hear, some of the ice is only 4 inches thick so be careful. With the cold weather, my guess is the whole lake should be safe pretty soon.

It was 24 degrees when we arrived at 8 am and 28 degree when we left at 1:30 pm. It could have been warmer, but that's what the truck thermometer said.
