After taking my new Jaw Jacker out for a spin on Mantua 1/3/15 I did not get my fill of fishing so I was watching youtube vids Saturday night and found this homemade gadget some guy in Canada had made. I don't have the link to the video offhand, but a close look at the photo and you can get the gist of it. Bungy cord stapled to a 2x4 with a rod holder attached, using the bungy hook as a trigger to set the hook on a biting fish. Might take a little tuning, but probably about 1/10 the cost of the rig I picked up at Sporties.

Very simple and durable. I like it, but you would need to get it very sensitive. If you make one let us know how it does for you.

I found the link to the video. It seems like it works well for this guy. I just bought a couple of jaw jackers, so I don't have a lot of need as of yet.

The "splaker taker" I wonder if it works well enough for the bows around here? Or cutts.
