Hello Utah Fisherman ... Nice 2 digitally meet U ... Where R the fish biting?
#1
Hello Fellow Anglers,

My name is Tadd and like many of you I would rather be fishing right now ... shore, fly, ice, boat ... I'm down!

I am always looking to find out where the fish are biting. Some of my favorite spots to fish in Utah include ... Utah Lake, Deer Creek, Willard Bay, Pineview, Jordanelle, Rockport, Hyrum, Tibble Fork, Provo River, Jordan River or even some of the local ponds.

I consider my self a pretty good trout/catfisherman ... The bass fishing bug has definitely caught me though! I also like to experiment and tie my own flies for fly/bass/ice fishing as well. The Picture below is one of my favorite catches ... a 7lb. Walleye caught at the Jordan river inlet near Saratoga Springs.

I Look forward to chatting and learning from everyone & maybe finding some new fishing buddies!

Thx ... Yeah caught that 2 yrs ago while fishing for white bass at the Saratoga Springs Inlet using a small half black/red g tail grub with a green tail. Fought like a log ... ha!

Where do you fish for Walleye?

Most of my walleye have been caught trolling on Willard Bay. I have also caught some from Deer Creek, Utah Lake and tried to catch some, but failed at Starvation. Other than Willard, I rarely target walleye.

I've caught a few of those skinny wallies @ willard as well using rapala Deep Diver and Cordell SuperSpots. At Utah lake Lincoln beach is usually the best but man they are hard to find ... typically on larger Jighead Gtails.

Tadd, Welcome to BFT. I'm not an ice fisher, but I do get out most every weekend during the season from ice off to ice on. You say you like Catfish. Have you tried at Cutler Resv. or Benson Marina, or anywhere along the upper or lower Bear River? Can be some real hogs caught in those places. You should join up on the annual BFT Catfish Contest. BFT'er Coyotespinner usually gets it up and running around April each year and runs thru Sept.

If you have never tried ice fishing .. .you should. It can be lots of fun. I have never fished at that those locations before. The BFT Catfishing Contest sounds fun ... I'll look forward to hearing details down the road. Is there a fee to participate?

Catfishing can be fun for sure ... I've caught some at willard, jordan river, ponds but mostly I hit up Utah Lake to slay the kitties. Caught these earlier this summer.

My best catfish catch of all time though is this Albino Cat from Millrace Pond in Tville.
