Flaming Gorge Report 1/18 to 1/19
#1
Did the Gorge for some Burbot Sunday over to Monday. Got to Buckboard, open water. Went north to Lost Dog, 6 inches, but sketchy ice. It was crunchy and water coming up through that top crust. Saw one guy risking his ATV sinking a few inches into that mess. We ended up at Firehole. There was 14 inches of ice. It was solid with only about 1 inch of crunchy wet stuff on top. Fishing was poor. We got a few bites is all. No one around us caught that I could see. Not sure how the Burbot Bash will be. Slow action and everybody pushed up into a smaller area than most years. Be safe out there. Conditions are changing quickly on the Gorge with the warms swings in temperature we've be having this year.
