Possibly hitting the berry sunday. With open water starting, is it worth making a 2 hour drive to ice fish? If so, where at? Chicken creek east? renegade? strawberry marina? Do not have a fish finder and on foot. Thanks

I was at Strawberry yesterday. 18-20 inches of ice in Strawberry Bay. I wouldn't go to Renegade over ice again this year. A line of open water across access to the Meadows and Renegade. Are you planning using snowmobiles or four wheelers or walk? Let me know and I can give you more specific ideas.

 ]Oops! I missed you are on foot. Walking, the ice is good. 18-20 inches. My son made the comment, "This auger is 3/4 down before I hit water. I plan to go back Monday with four wheelers again and fish southwest of the Strawberry Marina. We caught three fish yesterday. It was just a slow day. Two on rainbow garlic power bait and one on a piece of worm tipped with a marshmellow.Silver_Eagle PS The ice is still freezing in the holes as we were fishing. [signature] |
