Jordanelle/Middle Provo Sunday
#1
Started the day at Jordanelle at about 8am, launched the pontoons from the PWC ramp. My finder was reading 37 degree water at launch. Trolled south to the first rocky point with a rapala with one hit but didn't hook up. Started jig fishing and in typical Jordanelle fashion kept getting snagged up. At that point I decided I would troll the shoreline heading south seeing if I could get any action along with just exploring as I've never launched from that ramp before. Found some awesome structure and areas I can't wait to go back and hit for smallmouth. Only had one other hit while trolling but again wasn't able to connect. Ended up trolling back to the ramp skunked around 10 as the winds and waves were really picking up.

Figured I couldn't let the entire day be a waste so I hit middle Provo by Legacy Bridge to toss some spinners. Ended up with 4 browns in about 2 hours of walking the shore casting into holes. Not fast fishing but was fun to round up a few. Nothing with much size but they weren't dinks either, all around 12-15 inches and healthy.

Was really surprised at how few people were at that part of the middle, 5-6 cars in the lot is all. Charleston and the all of Provo canyon was lined with fly fishermen on the drive home. Plenty of boaters on Deer Creek, that was my original plan but wasn't sure if launching the 'toons at Charleston was legal at the moment or not and they have cement barriers blocking you from getting too close to the water.

I was up there on Saturday on my toon and had the same trip other than going to the Provo. Headed south along that west bank getting some snags, got one good hit with a tube jig and nothing else. The wind picked up and I headed back home. Talked to some guys fishing from the bottom of the pwc ramp and they had caught only 1 all day.
