Well I just got back from Puerto Vallarta Mexico. After 3 days of wining and dining my wife I could not stand it any more so I hooked up with a local fishing guide and the way we go. We hit the water around 7 am after a short boat ride we starting rigging the out riggers on both side of the boat then two long lines. As soon as the sun was up fish on my first Amber Jack, we boated 14 fish on the day lost a few more kept 3 for some garlic buttered and smoked tuna, all the fish caught on live minnows and 8" rapalas. It was a great trip and the all inclusive resort was not bad either

Nice, I was wondering why I had not heard from you in a while, sounds like a nice trip Tom. I've never heard of smoked tuna, how does that taste?

It's amazing Curt.
I caught some yellowfin tune a few years back in Cabo San Lucas and i was hooked. The Amber Jacks meat has the look and texture so I will let you know how it turns out.

Sounds like a great trip. Are those fish in the pictures Amber jacks? I'm pretty unlearned on the salt water species. Always hear of those and yellow fins and been curious what they are like. We caught sand bass when I got a chance to go. Glad you had a good trip. Later J
