W Bay North or South Marina?
#1
I generally launch at the north marina, but I haven't even been there yet this year. Which would be a safer bet? I have a 19' Targa, new last fall. I'd have to cry if it got damaged [Wink] . Are most of you guys launching from the north marina, with deep enough water at the ramp itself? I would be alone, so I'd have to tie off my boat while I park the truck. Is the dock still in deep water?

Thanks for any advice!

id saw launch at the north, not the south but I only have a canoe. You wouldn't really be able to tie off your boat at the south marina due to the dock just barely being in the water. We fished both marinas on Friday and saw lots of big boats being in launched in the north marina. That's my two cents, I would wait for someone more experienced with boats cuz I would hate to see your boat damaged.

My wife hates it when I go out alone, especially with the boat.

North marina has the dock deep enough to tie up. My boat is only 16' but north has been fine for me so far but I go slow until I'm past the bouyes. Good luck. J

Thanks, I'll go for the north. That's what I'm familiar with anyway. Glad to hear there's water at the dock so I can tie off for a couple of minutes.

I fish on my own alot out of my 1875 Lund.
North launch is good but do not go east at all from the ramp.
You will have to back in, fire up your motor to get to the dock, and then walk back to your truck.
The ramps immediately to the side of the docks are unusable. Only the center of the ramp is usable.

I launch my boat alone and it works fine. Hey Shane adds some good tips on his post as well. Don't try the drop off ramps. Later J

definitely go to the north marina, there is room for two boats on the part of the dock that you can tie up to. I launched alone Friday and had no problems at all.
