Me and some buddies are planning a fishing trip to Flaming Gorge in June, but none of us have ever fished it before. We're looking to rent a boat at either Lucerne Valley Marina or Cedar Springs Marina. Both are on pretty different parts of the gorge and I was wondering if you have any recommendations one over the other. Or if I'm way off with both, and there is a better option, please share if you're willing.
Thanks!

Not sure what Cedar has these days, but you don't get much from Lucerne. Motor and a tub. No sonar, riggers, or anything. Lake is generally calmer (more fishable from small boat) at Cedar. Prettier too.

If your after big Lake Trout, Lucerne is the place to be. But if you don't have sonar, downriggers or GPS and just a small boat, Cedar Springs is much safer place.

Go for the small mouth bass - you can go to most rocky points or shorelines and toss plastics and have a fun time. Heck my first year I caught a 20" inch small mouth working a rocky small cliff area and was very impressed. Plus they are a great eating fish so take a few smaller guys and have a fish fry.
If you want bigger Lakers hire a guide
If you want Kokanee then you will need downriggers or hire a guide.

you can go to Sheep creek and fish for rainbows
The wind can be a killer. so use your head.
