I was fishing Scofield (one of my favorite haunts) on my tube, minding my own business... well... I was bothering a lot of little rocket cutthroat.
Soon, as is often the case when you're catching while others are fishing, my spot seemed to be the best spot on the entire lake.
Nevermind I'm on a tube and this guy can motor around the lake and really be wherever he wanted. He had to be within half a cast of my tube.
If that weren't bad enough, he makes all kinds of noise and then neither one of us were catching fish.
Sheesh.
At least I got a picture...

Isn't it funny how you can be catching fish then all the sudden you have a whole bunch of people invading your space. This has happened to me 3 times at willard fishing for crappie, funny thing is we kept catching them and they didnt. I did how ever snag the bottom, loosen my drag and act like I had a 15 lb wiper on ....lol I got a bunch of dirty looks when I said JUST KIDDING IT'S BOTTOM LOL

Ahh, maybe. But a couple of those "locals" saved Willard Bay not too long ago.

I would say 2' is a better number today. With how shallow it is, water clarity is getting worse not better up there.

My sister in Missouri had a couple of otters invade their pond, eating all the fish. They contacted the DNR and were told that they could go ahead and kill them. I guess that otters have become reestablished to the point that when they become a nuisance, rather than trap and move, they destroy. According to the DNR, they mainly feed on craydads through out the spring and summer, but when they hibernate, they switch to fish. Ponds are an easy meal. It is good to see some of the native wildlife returning !!
