Willard on Friday

I'm going to fish Willard for a couple of hours on Friday afternoon just to see if I can figure a thing or two out before the Saturday morning Flotilla.

Anybody else going to be out on Willard Friday afternoon?

Thought we'd make it but looks to be pretty ugly weather... we take can tolerate some rain and cooler temps - but windy and thunderstorms not so much...

Yeah the darn weather report keeps changing on me and Friday isn't look so good after all. I'm with you, I don't mind the cold temps, but I'm not a fan of the wind!

Wind at WB can range from "just enough to keep the bugs away" to " OMG that white cap is taller than my boat!! and it can make that change in a matter of minutes.

Haha you are correct, sir. I fish out of a little 15 foot boat, so when the white caps start brewing up, I can't get into the marina fast enough!

Mine is only 14 foot, very little keel, so not the best in rough water, but great when the water levels are low...like now.....[fishin]

And a boat that size is so easy to launch and get back on the trailer if you're flying solo. I've been in plenty of bigger boats too and I don't like being out on really windy days in any size boat.

Well ya I need to I always hear about people meeting other people from this site and in the two years of being on this site I've only met one other person that visits your site

I'm surprised we haven't met, we fish a lot of the same areas and nearly the same times. The flotilla last Saturday was a great chance to meet a few members and later in the summer BFT helps take wounded vets fishing and that's a great chance to rub shoulders with lots of BFT members as well, but your right the flags and BFT bumper stickers are the best on water keys to know who is a member. Yote got me a dozen bumper stickers last week so if you're fishing Cutler sometime soon let me know and if I can I'll run Ya over a few stickers. I live close to the marina. Are you entered in the catfish contest this year? I haven't seen any entries for you yet and you're usually one of the top size catchers. Been wondering where you Mike and Catmaster are this year were behind the southern boys so far. Anyway let me know. Later J

fearfish, my flag is a bit of a custom job copied from the one I bought from WH2 last year. But like skunked said, get up with WH2. He just did an order recently, and usually needs 12 requests before he can make the order.

Ya you know we probly have fished next to each other and never known I haven't done much fishin in the last 4 months cause iv been workin out of town and the hole 3 weeks of ice we had and for the cat fish I don't really fish for them hard till the end of may is seems like they really fire up at the end of may

I'm hoping the bigger cats will start to feed with reckless disregard to what I put in front of them. I'm kind of just hoping to get out and try them again soon. Later J

Isn't that more temperature driven than calendar? Things have really cooled back down so it may delay things. Hate to be a wimp but I'm sure ready for some warm sunny weather. Been listening to the weather and it's not improving much through the end of the month. We'll see ya on the pond. Later J
