Maybe Drew can answer this.
.
Are there any plans to get them [saugeye] again? And if so, where are they going to put them?
"]

the state we were trying to get the saugeye from lost all of their saugeye this year (including their own stock of saugeye). Utah most likely won't be getting them this year.
Utah has been trying to get saugeye for a few years now. There have been numerous problems obtaining them. A future issue for Utah will be: how do you maintain a stocking program if you cannot consistently obtain saugeye to stock?
I don't know if they will truly ever be a viable option for us in Utah or not.
My names not Drew. Stop calling me that.

I'm not Drew either, but Red Fleet was scheduled for receiving some of these sterile walleye this fall after the treatment. Not sure where PBH got his info about lack of saugeye, certainly not disputing it, but as of a couple weeks ago the Red Fleet plan was still a "go." If I recall correctly, it seemed that Drew mentioned Utah was attempting to develop a hatchery system to produce many of these new sterile hybrids (wiper, saugeye and others) in the future. Not sure where that process is at this point.
