I probably haven't made a post on here in two years but I just have to comment on what an amazing fishery utah lake truly is. I spent a couple days down there this weekend and all I can say is wow. Me and my buddy started out the weekend fishing for bass and we caught several in the 4-6 pound range and my buddy also nailed a 30" channel on our bass lures. When it got dark we switched into cat mode and caught them all night. The next day I fished for bass in the morning and just killed them again. After catching my fill I decided to catch some fish for tacos and went after the white bass. The fishing for them was slow so I went after some bluegill/sunfish and once I found the school it was fish on every cast. Despite low water levels the last couple years I have really not seen much of a decline in the quality of fishing, size, and numbers. They just change location guys go get em.

Isn't this the truth. It is a remarkable fishery for multiple species. It has been going strong for me for about the last 7 weeks and I generally only have had a little time to fish on each trip.
The amazing thing to me is that 1/3rd of the people around here continue to think of the fishery as a polluted cesspool and seemingly another 1/3rd or so think the fishing is ruined or is threatened by the June sucker program. I'll never get it.

Everyone knows it's there people are just too impatient to figure it out. Don't worry I won't reveal our secrets.

Yeah, I had a great time during the WB spawn this year, and hope to have at least one more fast action day with them this summer.
My next order of business is to find a recipe for consistent success with panfish. I caught a single black crappie at the Provo boat harbor there once, but never a bluegill, green sunfish, or perch.
It's probably where I"ll go when I decide to get serious about catfishing too.

the fishing is good but shore fishing there isn't the greatest. Tons of trash on the shoreline, bugs like crazy, some interesting characters as well who show up and fish right next to you. etc..... Now from a boat it's a lot better.
