We fished out of Holmes crossing Monday morning and were able to keep 3 fish that were in the 3lb range. We released alot of fish in the 6"-10" range. The fish were in the 30' range. Went around the corner towards Buckboard and all we caught were small kokes. After going back in for lunch we headed out to the other side of the ranch house and caught another 3lber in 40' and that was the last big fish we caught. Monday night we went down to Lucerne and spent the night. Tuesday we fished the pipeline area and caught fish anywhere from 30' down to 68' and all were the small planters size 6"-10". The wind blew us off and we called it a trip.

I don't want to be a D word, but I'm going to say what everyone else is thinking. Your leader length off your dodger is too long, especially for that small of a dodger. I know you are holding up a fish you caught that way but 8 to 10 inches will give your squid way more action. Please don't hate me, just trying to help !

I agree with the leader being to long for that style of dodger. On mine when using those smaller dodgers i run my leader not more then 8". Another thing you can do is to pick up your speed a little, but not to much as those smaller ones with start to rotate, killing your action. It's all about experimenting, the fish will tell what they want.

I have not seen a dodger like that
the first of the year when I start fishing for kokes and the water is real cold, I use a 14" leader then go to 10" right now Im down to a 8" leader.
something to watch.

Yes sir, just shorten your leader. The dodger looks like one made by either father Murphs or Fishing with Gary (Fwg). great Dodgers. Nice job and report.
