Caught: Deer Creek Walleye
#1
My father and I took a rare evening trip up to Deer Creek yesterday. The fishing was great but the catching was slow.

The intent was to troll around for trout and walleye before sundown then hit the shores for small mouth until dark.

We caught one walleye 18", one rainbow 19", and one small mouth 3". I had a few hits on the popper that resulted in misses (my timing is always off early in the season).

[#0000FF]Congrats on at least catching ONE. But that does not a "run" make.

In years past, June has been magic for the wallies. But everything has been so wierd this year that they have not really set up on a definable post spawn pattern yet. And it seems to have been getting worse and worse for them every year. Nothing like it used to was.
