Made a quick trip to Utah Lake this morning. Got there at 7 am and tried a long arm of pump station on Goshen Bay. Nary a bite but the carp were still having a party in the shallows. Moved a little further north to a spot that has treated us well in the past. Got a tip on my phone from a buddy that let us know white bass wasn't the hot bait. So we switched over to Gulp chunks and crawlers. My 9 year old son hooked up with a feisty, fat 23 inch channel right away. Then he proceeded to out fish me, 10-3 for the morning. We kept 2 channels and 3 white bass to eat even though we fully expect to glow in the dark and grow antennas.[

] (I have been eating Utah Lake cats for years and haven't had any problems to note other than my normal issues.)[cool] It was a fine morning and a lot of fun fishing with my son. Lots of mud cats too but they all are still swimming. Bugs were bad but deep woods off kept them at bay. Breeze started about 10 and that helped a lot. Stayed til noon and came home. Hope ya'll have success at whatever you are fishin' for!!!
