Mantua fishing with the kids
#1
Took the whole family out to mantua today. My little boat doesn't fit the family so it stayed home. We tried from shore and caught one bass and 3 bluegill in a couple hours. This was only my second trip to mantua and so don't know it very well yet but we had fun anyway though the catching wasn't as fast as we would have liked. The DNR was out doing fishing surveys. I saw a couple people catching a lot more than I was we were using the same setup so I think it was probably location. It's hard to move around a lot with a bunch of little tikes. May try again later in the week.

Thanks for the report. Always nice to get out with the family.

I was out there with my boy and his buddy, on Friday afternoon...we just fished from the shore as well and had about the same luck as you. Couple smallish bass, and a bluegill in a couple of hours.

I think location is key, but even bigger factor for that pond is timing (time of day). It gets hammered most days out there, so if you don't get out there early before the heat, you'll have a hard time getting into 'em.

Just my .02 cents
