How has the fishing been at Henry's and Island Park? I am headed that way later this week for a nostalgic fishing trip that I am way excited for. Those two places, along with my wife's grandfather who has since passed on, really got me back into fishing after moving from Alaska about 20 years ago. I was a senior in high school and had grown up 3 miles from a river with major salmon runs and had a lake in my backyard with wild trout. I remember after moving to Idaho and catching a little 8" planter trout going into a fishing depression of sorts. Fishing Henrys and IP changed all that and got the fishing blood flowing again. We have since moved from Eastern Idaho and it has been quite a while since we have been up there.
I have read back through lots of posts about both fisheries from some folks like curt69 and cant wait to get up there!

That is terrific Curt! Thanks for the heads up. A worm and a marshmallow are what we generally used with my wife's grandfather. We will definitely be doing some of that mixed in with casting some spinners. Hope to have a good report on our return. Thanks again.

Had a great couple of days at Island Park Fishing both the reservoir and Henrys Lake. The fishing was a little slow for us and most others we talked to. Fly fisherman seemed to be doing better at Henrys. We drowned worms, trolled, and cast spinners. I attched a couple pics from the trip. Cant wait to get back hopefully in between archery elk and the deer hunt this fall.

I thought that moose would prefer a willow pattern but they seemed to prefer tender young quackies. It was pretty cool to see them. Momma must have chased them away to raise her new calf.
