So my Fathers Day gift from my girlfriend was a day of fishing and we waited until Tuesday to do it.
Deer Creek - So the surprise was she rented me a boat for 1/2 day, we wanted to troll and the motor they had, the slowest it would go was 2.5 - 3.0. We landed a 13" 1 lb trout. and that was it. No fish finder so our bait fishing wasn't a success either, but it is ok I had a blast with the woman I love.
After that we hit Heber for lunch and she asked me where to next, so I said let's take you to Mirror Lake.
Mirror Lake - I think they just opened up the campgrounds and the place was a little busier than I thought it would be on a Tues afternoon. We found a little spot where we could see some from shore and decided to toss out. There was a gentleman to our right fly fishing, he waded out to about his waist and landed 7 to 10 within a 15 minute time. I hooked up a Brookie quickly off of Corn Powerbait and then it died down. Towards 6 pm we moved to the right a bit and started pounding it. They were hitting us on every flavor of powerbait. (Corn, Garlic Cheese, Pink Sherbet, Rainbow Garlic)
Now here is a question, Towards the evening we were fishing off the bottom floating our powerbait, they were sucking on it. And carrying it away and spitting it back out and going and picking it back up and repeating the process. I don't think it was the bows as they just hit, I was wondering if it would have been the cuts or brookies? Anyone have thoughts here? I was getting frustrated.
