Family friendly fishing near Lehi

Hi Folks,

I am coming down from Idaho to visit my parents later this week and would like to take my dad fishing. I will not be bringing a boat this time. Is there any general spots within a decent drive of Lehi to take my dad fishing? Not looking for anything beyond a decent place to put out a couple of camp chairs with a chance of catching a fish with the old man.

Well there is Utah lake, and deer creek as your two closest places. Your third would be jordanelle.

Tibble fork up American fork Canyon is another option.

There's also the community fishing ponds in town, Highland Glen and Manila Creek. They have a two fish limit but the access is easy and you can't beat the drive.

Thanks for the help in finding a place for my dad to fish. Ended up going to Utah Lake and finding a spot to bank fish. Dad had a good time and caught a bullhead, his first catfish, and a couple white bass. It worked out perfectly. The fish weren't that big but that was not what it was about. it was a good time with dad.
