Uinta Report Aug 8-10

Well we went up and camped at Trial Lake. We tried to fish as much as possible. We hit Trial twice, Washington twice, Mirror, Shadow, and Crystal.

We were using flies, worms and powerbait. We experienced the best fishing by far at Washington. We were fishing on the south shore just west of the dam off one of the points.

Shadow got my vote for most scenic but we got skunked here. No matter as it was well worth the walk in for the scenery and no other people at this lake. The tiger is from Washington. The other pics are of Shadow lake.

We did fairly well at Trial just next to the dam. Prob caught 6-8 each time. Crystal I caught 2 Brookies on a fly and that was it.

Ya man for the past 2 years uinta hasn't been so hot for fishing. With the colder weather than normal less hatches coming out than 3-4 years ago. I've been only pulling out small fish nothing bigger than 15" so far. I just hope it warms up soon so I can see a heavy caddis hatch.
