[#400080]My oldest son and I did get down to UL this past weekend. Left Ogden area about 0730, and got to AF with good time. Just to realize I had forgot the worms [:/]. OK, make sure the boat is all secure, head back into town. Got the worms and back to the AF marina. Boat in the water....as warned it was a bit shallow 2-2.5'. But if careful, stay in the middle (what middle there still is) made it out to the main body of lake. Wanted to try dragging for some Walleye like I did in June, but we must have gone 1/2 to 3/4 mile and the depth just stayed at 2-2.5'. Then the wind came up, not bad enough to head for sheltered water, but too strong to try and troll and watch broadside waves at same time.[mad] [/#400080]
[#400080]So, we did quick 180 and angled to the south east to where I figured the Bubble Up was, and again, we were running out of depth way before we got close to it. Deciding to wait for some day with more water (? whenever that may be) we made a sharp left and headed for the AF River inlet area. At some point between the AF BH and the River, we were seeing some likely activity on the sonar, the water temp was about 80 and close to 3' deep. We picked a pretty arbitrary spot, dropped the hook, and got some worms out for their Friday bath. [fishin] [/#400080]
[#400080]Didn't have to wait too long before son hooked up a respectable kitty and broke his skunk. [/#400080]

[#400080]We weren't set up to keep anything as we were staying in a hotel in Lehi. But we could have had some great Cat fillets by the end of Friday.[/#400080]
[#400080]I hooked up one like it and now we both settled down now that we had chased out the skunk.[/#400080]

Now we didn't get into anything close to BLK and his Posse contest size, but I couldn't have posted them for the contest anyway. Just had a fair day, with calming and warming weather and several fish boated and all released. Even the White Bass got a reprieve.

There was one fish we didn't boat. But counted it as a catch cuz I was able to get a photo and reach down and twist the hook out. The only Carp for the weekend.

Now I know 22" isn't much to some, but it's one of the biggest I've boated this year. No, not a contest post.

Then the son (Wing Man) got what looked like his twin

And he boated up the last one for the day. Needed to get back to Lehi to get checked in.

Friday was good in all respects of, good company, good weather, no skunks, and I didn't get the Tin-Can stuck in the bottom mud anywhere. [sly]
Saturday was just a slightly different story, but will have to post it in part 2, cause I got a dinner to go to. Later ya'll
