Minersville report
#1
Had a great day of catching at Minersville a couple of days ago. I had my 6 year old grand daughter with me and we just slayed the trout for an hour and a half.

All Rainbows except for a couple of Cutts and one nice brown almost landed. Half were small most of the rest were 15 to 16 inchers, with a few Jumbos mixed in. The small fish are skinny and the bigger ones looked ok for the most part. All the jumbos were fat and sassy.

All caught on a small plastic jig below a fly trailer, with a kind of fast steady retrieve.. Most fish were hitting the fly just under the surface in about 5 feet of water. Clarity was ok (for Minersville) but there was a lot of coarse suspended algae.

The whole time we fished it was a hit, or a hookup on almost every cast. When we went back up to the house my wife asked my granddaughter "well how was it ?" and my granddaughter said " best bite ever!"

There is no water going out and just a little coming in. So it looks like Minersville has survived another summer. If it tops off this year it could be a lot of fun next spring.

Actually the trout never did go into " summer lock jaw" this year and the Wiper and Small Mouth action was great as well. Really good year for me at Minersville.

Nice work Blaine, looks like a very nice Fall day and some great catching to boot, you can't beat that. Hopefully this next year I can take you up on your offer, if I'm lucky maybe I'll be able to get down there. If the wipers are biting, that would be a plus but that Bow you are holding and the SM bass look like some pigs, either way that lake has some nice fish in it[cool].
