Got to the lake around noon on Friday. Not a whole lot of action, talked to another fisherman with the same luck. Had a big hit on a crawler, and a couple soft hits on mealworm. Buddy showed up about an hour after me, and then around 2, things got real fast and furious. Ended up bringing home give between the two of us. Threw a few back. Left at 330. Not bad for a few hours. Marked a lot of fish with the showdown, but hard to get them to bite.

parhed north of the dam. Went out about 75 yards or so. At about 50 out, seemed to get a little soft. Popped a hole, had a good solid 4 inches of safe ice.

+1 on that. Funny you mention maniacs, cuz that's exactly what was working for us today. I was seeing solid 6" of ice.
