fishing Causey tomorrow if anyone wants to join me
#1
I am taking my small boat up tomorrow Saturday the 12th and have an open spot on my boat, let me know if you want to go up and jig for kokes and bows. When I say my small boat it is this http://worldcat.com/models/lv10-livingston/, it is very stable and roomy and has wheels on the back for transport to the water. Has rod storage, rod holders, and a fish finder. Causey is still open water for a few more days anyway.

In my younger days, I'd have taken you up on that offer but with the low water conditions and likely slick shore, I'll leave that offer to a younger guy. How much does your boat weigh?

It weighs around 210 pounds empty, I have both a 10hp gas and a 55lb thrust electric for it but will likely just use the electric at Causey.

Hope you find someone to go, safer and more fun to fish with a buddy.

I usually don't go alone, can't really launch or load it by myself anyway.

Have you launched it lately there by yourself? Pulling 210lbs up a hill solo is hard work. Mine is 68. My motor is 58. Both are a good solo load. What I do wish is for a better fish finder. I could not find the fish last time. I suppose I should have anchored up with powerbait. Trolling was a bust.
How far down are the fingers iced?

I stated above that I do not launch it by myself so I wouldn't know, haven't even been to Causey at all this year. Never really used powerbait much myself, great to get kids involved but takes the fun out of working a lure or jig to work for the catch.

If you have a good finder and can find the tigers I would recommend jigging gulp or real minnows. That worked good for me at Huntington. I just couldn't find them at Causey. For the bows powerbait and worms on the bottom. Isn't the deeper water warmer now that the lakes have turned over?
Every big fish I get from Causey is full of Crawdads

Causey and Huntington are very different fish habitats, but I do usually stock up on several sizes of Gulp minnows. And I keep several of my secret jigs that the bows can't resist even on a sunny day during a full moon. During late summer the deeper reservoirs will only reach the 40-50's at deeper depths and maintain 40's in the winter.
