I tried to get up to Porcupine yesterday but for what ever reason the road plow stopped below the dam. The rest of the road looked like a no go for other than snow machine or ATV.

Do you have a 4-wheel drive? The oil road ends probably where your plow stopped and it's usually an ugly scary climb to the top of the dam, but I expect if the road wasn't opened yet it will be broken open soon. It can be a slick scary climb some days and you will want a 4x4 with good tires or chains but most years it's always stayed passable. Probably not going to freeze for several weeks yet and I don't think launching a boat is a very good option so it's probably not the best fishing right now. Thanks for the heads up. J
