So I was just thinking about what I need to take out with me on the ice when I take my kids and a very stinky reality just hit me. I have 2 Girls ages 4 and 10. So going tot he bathroom or holding it is no biggie for me. But the two kids I have a feeling it will be. SO I need some options. I am a foot solder so I do not have a sled or wheeler to tote a lot of heavy stuff around. So please any suggestions I would greatly appreciate them.

Strawberry Marina Store has close fishing and restrooms - it's where I took my wife on her first ice fishing adventure and she managed to have a good trip.

I have done the same thing as Lundman when ice fishing with my wife and my granddaughters -- fished near The Strawberry Marina.

Huntington has a bathroom too, right by the parking lot. Huntington can be a crapshoot for fish though. The toilet is not a flush toilet and there is no running water. There's always the option of a Luggable Loo, I haven't tried those myself.

I have had my girls ages 6-7 out with me. I use my tent to my advantage by moving the tent to conceal them while going to the bathroom.

Last time I took my girls (wife and daughter) both together was at bountiful pond a couple years ago. There was a toilet within walking distance. When I took my daughter to Yuba, we didn't have issues. Restrooms within close proximity there as well.

The State Park at Rockport also has a nice heated restroom with running water. Not sure how the ice is. They need to stay fairly warm and if possible catch fish. Any fish will do as long as they get to catch some.

With my two daughters I just learned that if I planned to fish areas without a bathroom, then I picked spots that were fishing fast and kept my trips short. Still, I've had many a trip cut shorter than expected by the urge to "go".
Quite often I take them ice fishing and have to pull off the ice for the bathroom break, but then come back for round two with them and it all works out just fine.
I'm out there to give them the best time possible and spend good daddy/daughter with my girls, so even though it m at be inconvenient I still do it and have a lot of good memories with them in the process.

When my kids were smaller (2 0f them daughters) My wife made a poncho out of an old blanket. We had a bucket for them to sit on with the poncho on and it just looked like they were trying to stay warm. worked great

Laughed my butt off on that, but very smart. I set another shack up with a 5 gallon bucket in it for my wife to use as a bathroom. I have seen other guys use a portable shower tent from walmart as an outhouse. Best thing is to fish near one. Fish Lake has a heated one next to twin creek inlet. Fish Lake is a good place to take them, a lot of fish, and fun for the kids.

Thanks for all the great ideas and good insight. I just want them to have a great time and enjoy fishing as much as I do. They just grow up way to damn fast so I am trying to savor every minute.
