Return to the hard deck
#1
Well i was finally able to return to the hard deck for the first time in a few years and it was good to be back out side. However the fishing for us was a bit on the skunkey side. We fished to the North of the Marina off of a point at Strawberry we covered form 15 FOW to 35 FOW saw several on the finder but just did not have what they wanted. Still had an enjoyable time. Got to use my new tent and it was great. Also got to use a friends new auger set up and all I have to say is WOW. He is using the Milwaukee 18 Volt drill on the Clam plate with just a 6 or 8 in Mora auger. With the 6 it was effortless. With the 8 you could tell it had to work especially when the punch through the bottom. I will add a small video of me drilling a few .

It looks like there is still open water ad Jordenelle, as well as a lot of either open water/skim ice and pressure cracks on Deercreek. I have a couple of pictures of Deer creek as well.

And lastly I saw what has to be one of the ultimate icebuggys. IF it breaks through no biggie it floats.

Now that's an ice buggy!

Some guys have Strawberry figured out but not me. At least I'm not the only one. Maybe this year I'll find a good spot to ice fish it! Thanks for the report and pics.

That is how that has always been for me hit or miss. I am with you, I just need to spend a bunch more time up there and maybe some day I will crack that nut.

Thanks for the report. Always nice to get out, especially after not being out for a while. Thanks for the updates on Jordanelle and DC.
