Has anyone herd about the water skiers getting some thing to killing off all of the hidrilla up there? I herd that they did witch killed off all of the bluegills! We went there this weekend & didn't catch anything we spent many days out on it last winter & this summer & caught many Blues & perch. Where did all of the blues go no way we caught them all, way to many the last few years. If so just 1 more reason for us fishermen to strongly dislike water skiers!

I hadn't heard that but can tell you the perch and bluegill are doing just fine there. Was in the northeast bay Saturday morning and caught / seen caught quite a few. I will say they aren't in the usual locations and are pretty tight lipped and lite on the bite. Had to walk a lot and punch a lot of holes to find them but the quality is worth it. Sorry no pics this trip.

So what kind of #s r u talking about? I'm not saying I'm the best fisherman in the world but to go from 100+ in a day to nothing something has to be up. I have herd from some locals that this fall that there was lots of gills floating around the lake.

I invited 9 perch and 11 gills home with me. I've heard from several sources that Mantua has been a struggle this year. My first trip was a big old skunk so it felt good to finally have some tight lines.
It may just be the lite bite. I had several fish that seemed to be more of a lucky pole movement than a hit. There may have been some floaters this fall, but the entire population isn't gone. Best of luck.
