Good Day at Strawberry
#1
I had a pretty good day at Strawberry Saturday - despite the fact that the rest of the western US was also there. By 6:45 it was hard to find a spot to park at the marina. Was there some kind of event?

I walked out away from the crowds and managed to find the spot I wanted with only one other person a couple hundred feet away. I started in about 25' and started catching fish right away! They really liked the green ratfinkee tipped with shrimp.

When it was time to leave I packed up everything but the poles in the water. I reeled up my dead stick. I really wanted one more fish so I stalled a bit with my last pole and jigged the glow tube a few more times as I was reeling up. Bang! Fish on! And then after a few reels, pop! Fish gone. I quickly dropped it down again, and it hit again, and I missed. It hit two more times, and finally I hooked the bugger! A nice 18 inch-er to end the day!

No slot busters, a couple 19"-20", but I caught probably 15 fish, which is the best I've done ice fishing.

Thanks for posting. Glad to hear the Berry is still producing well, I might have to head up there soon. 15 is a good number for fish of that size!
