Scofield or Huntington (Mammoth) Ice
#1
How's the ice on Scofield? I'm looking to get one more ice fishing trip in. If Scofield ice is no good what about Huntington (Mammoth)?
Thanks!

About a week ago someone said you better take an auger extension to Huntington because the snow is around 4-5 feet deep.

I went up to electric lake with the snowmobiles a week ago (February 21) and the ice was between 2.5-3 feet thick. I didn't see any slush at electric but there was a pretty good size spot of open water at the north end of the lake. I imagine that it's still pretty thick and safe at electric and mammoth. I've heard that scofield is sketchy around the edges.

I fished Scofield on Saturday. The ice was about 20" thick with 5 " to 6" of packed snow on top. I iced 32 chubs and 4 Cutts. The bite was really light and it was challenging to set the hook. The weather was great. Very little wind and quite comfortable.
