some friends and i are heading up tomorrow with our kids where on the west side is the best place to fish?

I was at Rockport last Monday and fished by the boat ramp. It was slower than in the past but I think I did as good as anybody else. My honest opinion is that where on the lake you fish is not as important moving around until you find fish. I have never seen a perch that wouldn't bite. In other words, if you aren't getting bites, then there aren't any perch where you are. I found the fish by changing the depth of the water I fished over. I fished 6 inches off the bottom.

If it were me and I wanted to fish on the west side, I would find the best parking and easiest access to the ice, and then move around until I found the schools of fish.

we were at rockport last saturday with bft get out of the fog we were in 25 feet of water landed five two nice bows no perch later i herd thay were at 35 feet but you have to move around (WANDO)
