Took a look at the DWR fishing reports and they have yuba marked as hot for perch? Really?! Seems like somebody is playing a serious joke on the internet scouters...

Well it is possible because there are perch in Yuba. For that to happen, that person would have had to found the spot or spots where the perch were spawning, so it could be possible. Thats one thing you never hear about, folks catching perch while they are spawning, it happens all the time when your after crappie but for some reason not perch. I wonder if they quit biting while they spawn[:/]. Anyway, too bad you can't contact that guy that made that report [].

It describes the fishing as hot. But there is no mention of catching perch. Only using perch colored lures to catch Northern Pike.

Hot The ice is off the lake and there is a dock in at Oasis. Anglers are catching northern pike on the fly by throwing streamers and a variety of perch-colored lures (spinnerbaits, top-water Rapalas, etc.) near the shoreline. Make sure you tip your hooks with a nightcrawler or PowerBait. The Oasis campground and boat launch will be closed for April. The state park plans to refinish the asphalt in the entire area. Camping at the Beach and Eagle View is now open.

That's interesting, when I look at it with my phone the indicator Judy said "hot. Likely species: perch".

The pike makes more sense, but I'd hate to get my hopes up given the past couple years.

I've seen two pictures in the last week or so of 36" + Northerns from Yuba.
