The family and I took a nice little day trip up to Pali
es. It was our first time up there and it is a pretty little lake. We had friends camped up there so we made a day of it.
I did not get to spend as much time in the new float tube as I had hoped but needless to say I got a few hours. Spent the first little bit adjusting the seat to a good position and after that it was off to the races. I do not have electronics on the tube yet so all I can tell you is the water temp as noted on the state parks website was accurate " Very Cold" I was in my 5mm waders and me feet got a little chilly. The fishing was pretty good I caught several nice little planter bow all but one coming on a black grub with a glow head and tipped with a chartreuse Gulp maggot. The were biting light or some small ones as they would hit it very soft. However I had one barley hit it, as I grabbed the god out of the holder, as I was just paddling out I felt the weight and a big head shake and then he was gone. I boated 4 and missed a few more. All in all a great day.
My 10 year old decided to try rowing the new tube for a while, that was enjoyable to watch bu she started to figure it out, I wish I could of gotten a few pics but my phone was back at the camp sight.
I would say as a shake down cruise it went very well, not to mention we had a great time with friends and even a little camp fire time.
