...and not just for bass, but for trout, pickerel other species that hit lures.
The Senko shape gets eaten by all species if size correctly. Even bluegill will attack as long as the fish's mouth and mood are up to the task:
The huge variety of baits that are sold as bass baits or crappie baits are nothing more than the same designs in different sizes.
I watched a Youtube video last night about an angler who came across as an authority on crappie fishing. The amount of misinformation was incredible and pretty much what has been passed down over the years. Granted, most of his ideas will work but not for the reasons he stated. What's more are all of the other methods and lures that also work and many that work better more months of the year!
I have to admit, superstition or belief in something may help an angler catch fish, but more often it may hinder him or her. What always amazes me is when I disprove something I believed was true for many years, much of it generalizations of why things work or can't. But specific and detailed information that stands the test of time on the water can not be disputed by anyone as much as many self-made experts may try to without anything to back up their assertions.
As usual, the media can not be trusted to represent anything but sponsor products and videos can lie and mislead! Being a lure crafter and designer has given me a view of many lure uses and designs not many have had the opportunity to witness or test.
The best advice for any angler is to always keep an open mind - as wide open as possible - and consider ideas as possible, probable, improbable or bull - once given a chance. To always take someone's word for something may close doors that restricts one's catches or that may be fine in certain situations or in certain bodies of water but not others.
The truth will always stand on its own. Falsehoods always makes it seem that the angler is at fault when certain lures don't work thereby adding clutter to ones tackle box.
