Starvation on the fly
#1
I haven't posted a report for awhile so I thought I'd better contribute to the cause. It's not because I haven't been fishing, I just haven't been catching.[Wink]

A friend and I fished Starvation today from our tubes. We launched at 9:30 and fished until 3:00 using fly gear. There were already several other tooners/tubers and a few boats out when we started. The fishing wasn't fast but it was steady enough to keep us on our toes. We used both medium and fast sinking lines and size 6-8 bead head leeches and buggers. We caught one 14" brown and the rest were the usual fat and sassy Starvation rainbows. The water temperature was up to 53-54 degrees and the visibility in the water of about 8'. The reservoir is full and spilling. We didn't hook any of the toothy critters, bass, perch, or carp on this trip.

I love the Starvation bows. Looks like a great day. What colors of buggers and leaches did you use?

For the leeches, olive green and purple. The buggers were black/orange and tan/green/pearl. Most of the fish were suspended in 12'- 30'of water.
