Wife brought home some Premo blood bait. I've never used dip bait before. Any of you ever try this stuff?

[#0000FF]Catfish are like teenage sons...they'll eat anything.
But over the long haul you will probably catch more and bigger cats by using FRESH natural bait...like minnows, crawlers, carp meat, perch meat or white bass meat (where legal). I have fished cats all over the country. There are places where the waters are always murky and usually stagnant. In those situations the cats are dependent on their sense of smell to find food. In Utah, even though the water is sometimes "stained" it us often clear enough for the cats to hunt by sight as well as by using their sense of smell and their lateral line for vibrations. Some of us catch lots of cats on various lures...and even flies. Not saying it won't work. But there are other things that will usually work better. And you will find it easier to get in the house afterward and your friends won't run away holding their noses. [/#0000FF] [signature]

What TD said !! Blood baits are a messy way to fish, even if you use spounges or plastic worms for them. One way to use them is to soak your bait chunks ( carp, sucker, etc) in the bait overnight. But fresh cut bait is the ticket most of the time !! Best bait for cats I ever used, illegal in Utah, is a 2-4 inch Bluegill/Green sunfish, live, hooked in the back, under a bobber. No self respecting cat will turn one down !!
