Deer Creek Boat Wash
#1
Question about the Boat wash. My understanding is that Currently the wash is open only until 6:00pm,in a couple of weeks it goes to 9:00. Do all the boats have to off the lake before the wash closes? If not what is the procedure?

Thanks

The wash down facility closes at 6:00 now and 9:00 PM sometime soon, and if you beg before that time you may find someone to sanitize your boat. ( Not likely regardless of the time )
The actual closing time has little to do with how poorly the State is dealing with this issue, and this is a proclaimed infected site.

I agree, it's extremely frustrating that the state people don't take it more seriously, and I'm afraid it causes some boaters to also not take it seriously.

you can make arrangements at the office to get your boat decontaminated before you launch so when you leave they will be ready for you to do the decontamination . but you can leave the lake at anytime with out decontamination but you are responsible to do it your self or have it done professionally . they do not always decontaminate your boat upon leaving the water ,it depends on how long before you go out again .

For these reasons, I have decided to end my fishing at Deer Creek. I do the majority of my fishing at Flaming Gorge, Idaho, and Montana. I have been subjected to serious interrogation from the authorities and if they hear "Deer Creek" they don't really care about your decontamination efforts. I have had many great years at DC, but it's just not worth the hassle anymore.

Give it one more year and all will be well again.

I think you're right. I really doubt that they'll find any more veligers etc in DC. Then I'll have to gripe about something else.

I really miss my quickies during the week at DC and then fishing more 'exotic' waters on the weekend.
I know I can still go to DC during the week but having to wait for de-con took some of the romance out of the trip.
I have an idea:

Allow self-certification with the hot water method!
