Kokes at Strawberry - Too Early?
#1
Any rumors of any Kokes getting caught at Strawberry? Too early in the year? When do the koke fishing start to pick up?

Picks up mid June thru July. But you can catch them right now, just use brighter colors, orange, pinks, etc. The fish should be up higher as well, between 12-30ft.

I spent Wed - Sat at Strawberry last week and I think it's at least 2-3 weeks too early for things to be really good up there. Overall the fishing was pretty slow and we only managed a few fish per day, including a couple of kokes. The water temps in the morning were 41-42 degrees and did warm up to only 45-46 in the afternoon.

Thanks buddy, you may be right. In the past I've started finding the kokes very near the surface once the water temps get above 42. I had to either drop back at least 150 feet behind the boat or run a side planer out at least 50 feet to the side of the boat trail. It can be frustrating too because without side imaging you won't mark much on your finder.
Weather doesn't look good for this weekend but I hope to get up there in the next couple weeks.

I'm planning to be back up there next weekend, so I'll post up with water temps and the fishing report to let you all know how it goes.
