2nd outing of the year brought us down to Joe's valley over the weekend. quite the scenic area to say the least. very remote spot in a nag free zone ( no cell service, Bonus!)
water had a very cool blue tint to it. water temps were in the 53-54 degree range. launched around noon on Saturday . sunny and about 75 degrees. 6 hours of casting got us one tiger musky. 33 inches and fat. must be eating good! .....didnt see any action other than the one fish. pulled the boat and went to joes valley campground and setup camp. then headed to the shore for some bank tangling. we managed one mid teen trout on a night crawler. stayed up around the camp fire way too late and only manged to troll for a few hours on sunday morning before the rains hit and we headed home early . should note that the launch was closed by the campground due to low water levels in that bay. we marked the most fish on the humminbird by the damn in over 100 feet of water. i suspect thats where all the splake were hiding . cool place. well worth the drive
