A little late on the post but headed up to Silver Lake Flat above tibble fork a few days ago just to try out my luck on the recently stocked grayling. The trip is always worth it just for the beauty and landing 7 grayling didn't hurt either. Was only there for about an hour before the crowds started showing up. As a bonus I hit the river on the way down and caught a few feisty brooks.

Be aware of the dam work at tibble and lots of big equipment... Should be nice when it's done.

Thanks for the post! I wondered how that construction was treating things up there. Sounds like a solid day on the water! What were you using to catch the grayling?

Small spinner, blue fox, for the grayling since the wind was too strong for the fly rod. [cool]

Went up there sat for an afternoon outing HOLY CRAP that place was packed. even seen a guy on a boat with a motor. [bob] I took the toon out and nothing but a bunch of parties and south american friends all out on rubber rafts. Dogs Chasing the ducklings around I was getting pretty pissed[bob][bob][bob]. Everywhere i casted there was someone paddling on past me on those paddle boards. it was a mad house i finally anchored up at 24 feet and just chilled and bait fished till crowds started to clear out then i went back to the inlet and started handing out some flies and the greyling were all over them. They took anything i threw at them. (thanks to the Bank tangler for snagging my line[mad][mad]) When people started seeing i was catching fish they ware crowding me out. All in all i landed one trout and took home 2 greyling to smoke. But the greylings are small and do not have the long dorsal fin like i was hoping for but thy were pretty good smoked.

Yeah, I avoid that place on the weekends... Even during the week can be crazy. When I was up there a few days ago there was even a full size RV up there! People have zero regard for posted signs and even common sense. [:/]
