Lately, I've been fishing plastic worms rigged in a Texas style without a bullet weight. I like the action of the worm and so do the bass.
Problem is, the worm is unprotected and gets damaged prematurely. One of the advertisements for bullet weights is that they protect the worm, and they do.
I'm looking for a plastic nose cone, like a weight I would think unless you have a better idea. It should come in various widths to fit different size worms. The point end should not be too pointy or the plastic will break.
You could even make oval shaped cones that fit over oval shaped plastics if there were a call for them. They could be pegged down on the oval shaped plastic with one of those rubber bobber stoppers or some such.
Or the hole in the large end of the oval cone could be shaped so that it fits over the eye of a hook and naturally turns itself in the proper direction. Maybe that would work, but I see problems.
Please get the tool and die man working on the molds Monday at the latest.
Thanks,
Harry
