That could have been one REALLY expensive bass. Pretty cool though.
Made me think about doing a long line trolling from shore, just use a clip similar to a down rigger so when the fish hooks it doesn't take the drone down with it. [signature]

I tried using downrigger clips while rc boat fishing, but a magnet to hold the hooks works better. There is quite a bit of tension required to pull the line from a downrigger clip and it slingshots the lure or bait and usually gets it tangled. The other problem I had was that it was a gas powered rc boat and usually put the fish down deep so I had bad luck using it. Electric boat would be better. In fact an electric boat with a WiFi enabled fish finder that transmits the screen image back to shore where you can target structure would be pretty neat. If that is not available then the FPV goggles and a small camera aimed at the fish finder screen transmitting the image back to the goggles. Might be a good way to do it for those waters where large boats are not allowed. A lot of my time has been wasted dreaming of better ways to catch fish.

Funny stuff. It seemed like he gave no thought to what he would do if he caught a fish before he started.
These guys have it figured out, fishing Tuna in Australia with a drone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sdUZqOoAq4 [signature]
