Catfish Mania.... Or the frenzy for heroics
#1
[#80bf00]Hey Everyone we are entering the final month of the BFT Catfish Contest for 2016 and we have a great race going on this year.... [#800000]Team South held the lead for the first part of the contest with many mighty fish.... [#0000ff]But a dynamic duo from team north has recently put team north in the lead going into the stretch... Contest ends October 15th and all entries must be in within 7 days of catching the fish.... Sooner if possible, don't want no sand bagging going on... [/#0000ff][/#800000][/#80bf00]
[#ff0000]Anyway this is a reminder for all contest participants that haven't been keeping up to get back to work, catch some fish and help your team out to the final scores... [#588000]Fish over 28" will help out team south and fish over 28.5" will help team north.... [#bf00bf]Team north has a ten fish score of 293.5" and team south has 291" over 10 fish... Biggest fish of the contest is 31.5" so far... caught by team south... [/#bf00bf][/#588000][/#ff0000]
[#0000ff]Now it's a commercial time... I still could use some help rounding up prizes from the local sporting goods dealers or restaurants and etc... If you have some connections and could line up some prizes please let me know so we can get these guys some bling for a hard fought season... Thanks all... J[/#0000ff]

Turn off this blasted wind and you will see the southern fish start rolling in. The low water is bad but the wind makes it impossible to get out. Soon....

BTW, appreciate all you do to keep the contest going and updated.

Now we don't want you southern guys doing a Moses on us and have the wind blow all that water away so you can just go out and pick up the fish on dry ground. Although it sounds like you're close now.

No seriously, I do hope you get a good chance to get back after those fish it makes this contest so much more fun. Can you believe the interest level this year? I think each year we get a bunch more participation and it's crazy how many big fish have been caught. Looking back over the three years of data I have, it's fun to compare the seasons. I may make that data available to all in a weekly score update. Anyway thanks for the kind words and I do enjoy it so it's all fun for me. Hope to see you return to your usual top two position, but it may take that 36"er to do it this year. Good luck. J

Yes it will be nice to meet and tell tales of the fun we've had. I'm pretty sure at least one of you southern boys will be getting a prize, since we give a prize to the top fish on each team, and as of right now you guys look good for the overall big fish. I guess we need to remind everyone about the carp and smallest cat prizes as well that are up for grabs. Oh youth prize winner too. It's sure been fun to have you guys active and bringing such big fish to the table. I keep hoping that I can find one of those 30's this year, but I'm sure having a hard time getting back on the water. Hope to soon though. Thanks for making this exciting and fun. Later J

30 incher.....? Shoot...........I'd be happy for anything over 22 inches this year...........although it wouldn't help me now individually, it might add a fraction or two to the team score.......Hey Jeff, where we gonna have the awards dinner this year?

Hey Forest you bring up a good question, we haven't selected a location for the awards get together. I'll open that up to suggestions. Last year they gave us a ten percent cut on the prices, however, how long did it take for your order to show up and didn't they forget something for someone else? Anyway my suggestion would be somewhere close to the north south line so both sides can attend as easy as possible. Split the distance between Logan and Provo.

Format is very informal where we can visit and at the end present a few awards. Would be best to avoid those noisy spots, you know which ones I mean. Anyway thanks for bringing that topic up. I expect we should try around the first of November or whichever day of the week is most convenient. Sometimes a mid week night has less conflicts and it's easier to avoid crowds. Later J
