4 lake tour

My buddy and I decided to try lost creek in hopes of some fishable ice. It was 7 below at the dam and no ice in sight. We drove over to the boat launch and ice was starting to form there. We decided to hit the river on our way out. I tossed a spinner out a few times and hooked a snag. It was too cold for the fingers to tie on another. So we went over to east canyon and it was the same song and dance as lost creek. We had a few more hours before the kitchen pass expired so we went over to pineview and then up to causey. As we got to the causey damn I could see 2 groups out on the ice. I grabbed the ice chisel and jabbed a hole on the edge and it was about 2 inches. About 3 feet out I jabbed another and it looked to be about 4". We grabbed our poles and auger and went for it. Where we were the ice was about 6" and from what the other group said the scout arm was about 3". We stayed for about 2 hours and didn't mark any fish or get any bites but it was nice to get on the ice again. The whole time we were there the ice was singing and popping. A few of the pops had a pucker power of about 9.

Thanks for the report. Saved me a drive to Lost Creek Tuesday. Maybe by Christmas.

Thanks for the report. Hoping that some more cold temps this week will stack on a few more inches on all the lakes! The days of testing questionable ice are over for me. Cheated death once before. Not worth it.

sliverslinger I still can't believe you have got to the point you're aren't going on thin ice and cheating death. You finally are acting your age. Lets get out this year buddy.
